Homemade in NJ - Brodetto Di Merluzzi (Whiting Soup)


This is Brodetto Di Merluzzi, an Italian specialty most formally known as, whiting soup. I plated this with whiting on the side, and in the soup. Also, with a side of bread. The soup was excellent. It was warm and flavorsome; with the tomatoes and the fish giving off its juice in the water, it makes it great. The fish was fabulous. It was soft and surprisingly not bland. It is seasoned with sea salt which gives it great flavor. Dipping the bread into the soup, just gives the bread a delicate, savory taste. I give this dish a 5/5.
